Player Conduct Policy:

The Board has also adopted a three (3) strike rule for players’ conduct infractions this upcoming season, which will also be at the sole discretion of the coaches.  The first strike is a warning; the second strike is a suspension for games; and the third strike is expulsion from WPLC for the season and potentially beyond.  We encourage you as parents to discuss with your sons and daughters that lacrosse is a physical sport, yet such physicality must be met with sportsmanship and good behavior.

Kick-Off Party and Equipment Exchange:

The annual Fall Kick-off Party will be scheduled on Sunday, August 23rd at a location TBD. WPLC will provide pizza and drinks.  You are welcome to bring old equipment to donate, including helmets, cleats, gloves, shoulder pads, sticks, girls’ goggles/helmets, and arm pads.  You are also welcome to grab any equipment offered at the Party.  It is very important to attend this event even if your son or daughter has played with WPLC for years.  We are always looking to make our community stronger and the people involved more close-knit. If you are a new player, please do not rely on this event to obtain equipment. The donated supplies are limited.

Apparel:

Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for a link to purchase WPLC apparel; we have partnered with a new company this year to bring more cost-effective and quicker-turnaround apparel for purchase.  Of note: this is different than the uniforms, which still must be purchased as indicated above.

Practice Jerseys:

Players can use practice jerseys previously handed out in past seasons, old uniforms, or their game jerseys.  Unlike the past two seasons, WPLC practice jerseys will not be handed out this season.   The important thing is all players, both boys and girls, bring a reversible jersey to each practice.  Such jersey must have a white and dark side.

Free Shooter Shirt:

The Turner Group, your one-stop source for Central Florida real estate needs, have graciously agreed to sponsor free shooter shirts for all WPLC Fall players.  Please be sure to use the drop-down menu in the registration link to select your child’s size.  A link to The Turner Group’s website is provided below.

US Lacrosse Membership:

We require each player to have a US Lacrosse membership and there will be a place to include it in the registration process.  Registration, details and benefits received from the membership can be found.

WPLC Social Media:

Please follow the WPLC on Instagram at @winterparklax.  Several announcements can be found there, including the location for the Fall Kick-Off Party on August 23rd.

The Board:

The WPLC Board is currently run by co-Presidents Chasse Greene and Ryan Scordato, and other current members are: Courtney Maloney; Scott Ramey; Chris Wanzenberg; Garrett Manno; Mary Feighery; and Shannon Sullivan.  Winter Park Boys’ Head Lacrosse Coach Ryan Healey and Winter Park Boys’ Assistant Lacrosse Coach Colin Turner also serve on the Board and are involved in all major decisions affecting the WPLC.

We would like to thank past Board members for their great contributions to WPLC.

We look forward to a great season and Go Wildcats!
