Where to findequipment?
When purchasing lacrosse equipment, it’s important to consider both new and secondhand options, especially for beginners. Here are a few key ways to find lacrosse gear:
1. Local Sporting Goods Stores: You can start by visiting your local sporting goods stores, where you’ll find a range of lacrosse equipment including sticks, gloves, pads, and protective gear. Reputable brands to look for include STX, Warrior, Maverik, and Brine. These brands offer quality gear designed for both beginners and advanced players.
2. Secondhand Stores: If you’re just getting started or don’t want to invest too much initially, secondhand stores can be a great option. Stores like Play It Again Sports or similar resale shops offer gently used equipment at a lower price. You can find quality items that are still in good condition, and sometimes even get great deals on top brands.
3. Friends, Family, and Neighbors: Don’t forget to ask around! You might be able to borrow or buy gently used equipment from friends, family members, or neighbors who no longer need theirs. Often, youth players outgrow their gear quickly, and these items can still be very usable for beginners.
4. Free Equipment: If you’re just starting and looking for free options, some local community groups, schools, or leagues might offer free or low-cost equipment. It’s worth checking with local organizations, as they often run gear drives or have equipment available for loan.
Coach’s Recommendation: Before purchasing any equipment, feel free to bring it to one of our coaches for a quick inspection. We are happy to make sure everything fits properly and recommend any adjustments or upgrades based on your specific needs.

What if my son or daughter is new to lacrosse?
Learning the game at an earlier age is always a benefit. Lacrosse is a sport that many athletic kids can pick up in a short time.
If your son or daughter has played baseball, soccer, basketball, football or another sport, there are many parallels.
Each age group has an adequate emphasis on individual and teams skills while having fun.
